Earlier this week, we posted a note from a reader asking if there were interest in having a community bulletin board space where kids looking for odd jobs (babysitting, lawn mowing, etc.) could post as could those looking to hire. The response was unanimous and overwhelming, so we’ve gone ahead and done it: Wallyhood now hosts a Job Board on our forums. Feel free to post what you’re looking for or offering. Just click the “Forums” link in our toolbar (or the words Job Board in this sentence) to get there.
The original impetus for this was to help kids looking to earn some money over the summer, but we’re not going to put any rules on it. If older folks want to post, we’re not going to try to restrict it.
We will remind you, however, to use your common sense: parents, please supervise your children appropriately. We’re not filtering or vetting any of the messages posted here, that’s your responsibility. What with the litigious turn our society has taken, perhaps that’s foolish of us, but we suppose that’s one of the advantages of being an independent blog: we don’t have a legal department telling us what we can and can’t do.
Now, who wants to clean out our chicken coop?
A job board is perfect for Wallyhood!! Great idea. I’ll be sure to check it out.
Thanks, Jordan!
