The long winter of banality and tedium is almost over: Wallingford Art Walk returns this Wednesday, May 5th from 6 – 9 pm (and will continue the first Wednesday of the month for the foreseeable future).
They won’t be running the shuttle they did last year, but they are producing the handy map of participating businesses you see off to your right (click to download the full size version).
We’re big fans of the Wallingford Art Walk, not because the art is particularly good (which it sometimes is), but because it’s always such a great way to see our neighbors. A slow stroll down 45th Street is punctuated with random run-ins, meandering meetings and cackling caucuses. We see old friend, we chat with store owners and artists, we strike up conversations with strangers. It’s just such a great excuse for some low effort, low intensity socializing.
And you might even get a few plastic cups of wine along the way. Bonus!
See you on the street.
Hey, ouch! on the “…not because the art is particularly good (which it sometimes is)…” comment, bub! Make sure you bring your meandering, cackling selves down to Caffe Appassionato tonight, where I guarantee you the art – and the coffee – will be damn fine.
Kelley Knickerbocker
Mosaic Artist (in residence at Caffe App tonight!)
I call it like I see it, but I do try to see it. Will definitely check you out tonight, Kelley.
And others: if you want a special shout-out for your show, be sure to let me know about it beforehand!
