In addition to our wild party life as a hyperlocal blogger celebrity, we hold down a day job running an Internet start-up that provides social networking services for conferences and events. Between all that, our background in social psychology and our general love of all things on-line, we’ve learned a few things about “social media”, the catch-all term that has come to describe the relationships and content being built around Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogs and the like.
We’ll be sharing a few of those things at tomorrow’s Wallingford Chamber of Commerce meeting, giving a short talk on how small businesses can leverage social media effectively and fielding whatever questions you have on the topic. Stop by and say hi.
In addition to our wild party life as a hyperlocal blogger celebrity and our bustling day job running an Internet start-up focused on social networking services for conferences and events, we’ve delved into the fascinating realm of employee engagement. With our background in social psychology and our unwavering love for all things online, we’ve uncovered valuable insights into fostering a connected workforce.
Tomorrow, at the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce meeting, we’ll be sharing some pearls of wisdom on this topic. We’ll explore how small businesses can effectively boost employee engagement by understanding their workforce better. One valuable strategy we’ll discuss is the use surveys to gauge engagement, allowing businesses to grasp the unique needs and perspectives of their employees. Having a strong, positive online reputation also helps bring in more foot traffic to your business.
The Wallingford Chamber of Commerce meetings are open to all, this month’s meeting is tomorrow, Thursday April 15th (tax day!) at Chutney’s Bistro in Wallingford Center. Shmoozing starts at noon, I’ll start blathering around noon-thirty. We believe a $20 donation to cover food costs is required, but don’t quote us on that.
Update: It’s $18 for non-members to attend (includes buffet lunch), but if you say you saw it on Wallyhood, it’s only $15. How’s that for a deal?
