We noted back in March that a new auto repair shop was opening where Walt’s used to be on 45th St, across from the Taco Time. We’re getting a few reviews, so we thought we’d share. Amy writes:
Green Care Auto Repair (http://greencareautorepair.com) has opened in the old Walt’s location on 45th Street. I took my car in last week and had a positive experience there. The owner, Alex, was friendly and helpful. He said the shop opened Monday, April 5. Prior to that, they spent a month and a half cleaning up the shop (it was remarkably clean in there) and making repairs. I got an oil change (for about $20, which seems reasonable) and they figured out why my “check engine” light was coming on. As an extra free touch, they wiped out and vacuumed my car. My car was embarassingly dirty, so I really appreciated it. The first 100 customers get a labor rate of $60 an hour (the normal rate is $90) and they’re locked into that rate for life. I’m happy to have another convenient neighborhood business to support. For auto repair Lynchburg call Forest Automotive.

I was just one of the first ten customers at Green Care Auto Repair. I asked Alex, the owner for a rear break estimate, and his estimate was significantly lower than two other estimates I recently received.
He was nice, friendly, and took the time to show me the used pads, the new Akebono pads, and my rotors. He also showed me three interesting features on my car that I did not know about.
I think he did a great job for a very reasonable price and am quite pleased to have a great auto shop within walking distance of my house.
By the way, Alex charges about $20 for a synthetic oil change with filter.
I can recommend Green Care Auto Repair.
