What’s the best wine to pair with salmon? How about a bowl of chowder? Find out this Tuesday, March 23rd 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Ivar’s Salmon House here in Wallingford during their Third Annual Washington Wine Month celebration:
It’s like a mini Taste Washington at half the price! Dine on a variety of sumptuous seafood paired with more than 75+ Washington wines. Your wine tour will take you to the fertile, lush Cascade foothills and back through the verdant central and eastern basins of the state.
Wineries include Airfield, Basel Cellars, Boomtown/Dusted Valley Vitners, Bunnell Family Cellars, Canoe Ridge, Covey Run, Covington Cellars, Farm Boy, Hedges, and Hestia, and the menu includes herb crusted roast beef, alder smoked salmon sides and venison croquettes.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets. $5 from each ticket will be donated to the Scott Kingdon Memorial Guild benefiting Seattle Children’s Hospital.
More information on the Ivar’s web site.
Also tomorrow at Ivar’s: Buy an entree, get another for “105 cents” (say “Happy birthday, Ivar” to get the deal).
Coincidentally, tomorrow (Tuesday) you can also get a free pastry at Starbucks (before 10:30 a.m.) and a free ice cream cone at Ben & Jerry’s (noon-8 p.m.; technically in Green Lake, but close enough).
That about covers all the major food groups …
