Sounds like there was a conflagration at the Rancho Bravo Taco Truck today. At 7:42 pm tonight, Andrew sent us a tweet:
There’s a fire truck at Rancho Bravo. I saw 3 firemen on top of the new taco truck spraying fire extinguisher down the chimney.
And BaconFriedRice posted this photo to Twitter of the action:
We’ve dropped Freddy Rivas, the owner, a line to find out more and will let you know what we learn.
I stopped by the truck about 1pm today. The old truck is being reinstalled and they said they’d be open by 5 or 6pm tonight. The fire was caused by what was described by the guy working as a “manufacturing problem”: The oven inside the truck overheated the wall of the truck and started the fire. It was not an electrical fire, according to him. If I was a real reporter I would have gotten names of these people. It was all according to the guy on the right with the screwdriver in this photo:

Here’s a shot of the damage to the “new” truck:

This is really sad! They just got their new truck in there! I hope this isn’t a big set-back for them. It looks like that damage isn’t too bad from the outside, I hope it can be repaired quickly!
We walked by there this afternoon. The new trailer appears to be decomissioned with some damage and is back in the Golden Oldies lot, but Rancho Bravo was open for business using the old, smaller trailer in its regular space! Go Freddy & family!
Maybe the chile was too hot and caught on fire!
