Seattle Crime reports that a 42 year-old man was stabbed at 6:15 p.m. this evening in front of the 7 Eleven on 40th and Stone Way. Two men got into a fight and the suspect stabbed the victim once in the lower back.
The victim may have been armed with a crowbar and police are looking for a white Mustang with a smashed window.
At this time, there is no word on the victim’s condition, though medics arrived shortly after the incident and rushed him to the hospital.
We’ll keep you posted if we learn any more details.

Thanks for the link, Sharad.
I’m at the bus stop here almost every weekday–sometimes twice. I wonder if one or both of the parties involved are the transients (?) that have fairly recently started hanging out up against either end of the front wall where they’re out of view of the people working inside.
Oh, and for the people just moving in–the gas here is some of the most expensive around. Oh, and I realize it’s tight, but please don’t drive on the sidewalk to get to the pumps.
Didn’t someone get stabbed there a year or two ago also?
I believe a young woman was mugged at that intersection a few months ago.
Yet another reason why I would like to see that hole on the corner swallow up the 7-11 as well.
@Brian: Are you referring to the woman who was robbed back in mid-Nov? She was mugged just a couple blocks from Tues night’s stabbing, at 38th and Stone Way. Here’s a link to the write-up we posted about that incident: http://www.wallyhood.org/2009/11/stone-robbery-update
@Erin: That’s the one I was thinking of. Do you know if that crime was ever solved?
I live 3 blocks up from that 7-11, on 40th, and I would be very sad to lose the 7-11 and its friendly workers, who always smile at my baby daughter. Unless, of course, that giant hole would turn into a 24 hour grocery store or something similar. Then that would be okay.
I think most transients try out that 7-11 for awhile, and then realize that it’s not very lucrative and move on.
@Brian: Sorry for the delayed response! I never heard anything more from the victim after our original conversation, so I’m not sure if police were able to recover any of her personal belongings, or her attacker for that matter…
@Brian: Just sent out a follow-up e-mail to find out the scoop. I’ll let you know if I hear back. Thanks for reading!
