Nothing’s free, right? Well, as it happens, some things are. We’re experimenting with an advertising platform built by our paisans over in Capitol Hill, Instivate. That banner you see between the first and second post on the Wallyhood home page and the other one you see at the bottom of the sidebar are both powered by their InstiAds platform.
One of the cool features of this platform is that it automatically allocates 10% of the “inventory” (page views) for free ads, as a way to let people try it out. So, if you’ve got a message you want to get out to Wallingford readers, try it out. Here’s how:
- Click the “Advertise Here” link you see on the Wallyhood home page after the first post.
- Go through the ad set-up, uploading your graphic and/or entering text. When it asks for a “budget”, choose anything, it doesn’t matter
- When you get to the last step (billing), scroll to the bottom of the screen and click “Place Ad for Free”
Ridiculous, right? Of course, if you’re happy with the results, maybe you’ll want to upgrade…
