Gas Works Park was buzzing with 50+ chefs on Tuesday morning — all from big name restaurants throughout the city. The backdrop served as a place to film a promotional video for Seattle Restaurant Week, which makes its debut April 18-29. During that week, over 100 restaurants citywide will be serving three course dinners for $25, and many will also serve three course lunches for $15. Wallingford restaurants Avila, Ivar’s Salmon House, Joule, and Tilth will participate in the promotion.
Seattle Restaurant Week is the brainchild of Seattle Restaurant Cooperative, comprising Ethan Stowell Restaurants, Tom Douglas Restaurants, Seastar, Crush, and Tilth.
“It is our genuine hope that diners will take complete advantage of Seattle Restaurant Week. The two week frenzy is a celebration of food, but it is also a way for us, the local restaurants, to thank diners for their continued support,” noted Chef-Owner Maria Hines of Tilth restaurant.
We don’t know exactly what the video entailed other than that it involved all of the chefs, the Mariner Moose and the Sea Gals, but we suspect it’ll be up and running on the Seattle Restaurant Week website beginning in March.
This is really exciting. I’m so glad I live in a city that has such high appreciation for good food.
