A few weeks back, when Chris wrote about the Wallingford Pizza House, we added a reader poll: what’s the best pizza in Wallingford. We got 148 responses, and thought you might be interested in the results:
So that’s Tutta Bella leading the pack with 34%, followed by Wallingford Pizza House (23%), Pagliacci (20%), Pudge Brothers (15%) and taking up rear, Olympia Pizza and Spaghetti House (6%) and Milano Pizza (1%).
On the topic of pizzas, if you enjoyed Zaw Pizza at the Wallingford Farmer’s Market, you’ll be happy to hear that they deliver to Wallingford…once per week. Zaw specializes in “cook your own” pizza: they assemble a custom pizza for you, using organic and local ingredients where possible, and then you bake at home. When they were at the Farmers Market, they would always use ingredients from the stands around them, which rocked.
Their store is in Capitol Hill, but they deliver to Wallingford on Wednesdays.
There is also a Zaw on South Lake Union 434 Yale Ave. N. and Ballard 5458 Leary Ave NW
semi-off-topic; not a Wallingford joint but I had a pizza from Kylie’s Chicago Pizza in Fremont (where Mad Pizza used to be) and it was very good. There’s no online info (“web site under construction”), and you apparently need to set off fireworks to get the attention of the serverettes when coming in to place a takeout order, but if you prefer your ‘za to have the density of a neutron star, give it a shot.
sorry…but wallingford house sucks it (takes way damn too long and it ain’t even that great)… milano’s isn’t even listed–what’s up with that?…. that’s too bad that Milano’s is too good for the wallingford palate.
Milano’s used to be really good, but I had a string of botched calzones so they lost me as a client. Now I usually hit up Piccolo’s in the UD or Bambino’s downtown. Only Piccolo’s delivers to The Wall though.
