We’ve always been huge fans of InterConnection (down on Pacific near Gas Works) for their work refurbishing old computers for poor communities around the world, for providing job training for people here in Seattle and for selling really cheap used computers and parts to help finance those efforts. It should come as no surprise, then, that they’re offering to pitch in how they can in response to the disaster in Haiti. Ally writes:
In the wake of the earthquake in Haiti, InterConnection will be donating laptops to NGOs and aid organizations working in Port-au-Prince. The goal is to get 100 laptops to Haiti as soon as possible. We’ve partnered with World Concern to accomplish this goal. We will be refurbishing the donated laptops and installing French software and sending the laptops to Haiti with World Concern staff members. So if you’ve got an old laptop you’ve been thinking about donating, now would be a great time to do so! More info here: http://www.interconnection.org/haiti.html
