We know, what with the frigid temperature and all, gardens seem like a distant memory, a fragment of a dream that returns to you briefly in the shower, then slips away before you can grasp it. But the fine folks at Seattle Tilth are hard at work planning how they can help you gardens grow, and are looking for some opinions from you.

The Seattle Tilth Teaching Gardens have been at the Good Shepherd Center and Meridian Playground for more than thirty years. The gardens are located on Seattle Parks property under a lease agreement that allows Seattle Tilth to maintain the gardens as a regional educational resource. Seattle Tilth is in the process of renegotiating our lease with the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Department to continue garden and educational programs. As part of that process, Seattle Tilth must gather community input, reviewing our use of the property with neighbors, friends, and interested community members.
Seattle Tilth is now seeking community input about current programs and potential improvements for the Teaching Gardens and we want to hear from you. Bring your ideas to our public meeting on December 15, 2009 from 6:30-8:00 pm in Room 223 at the Good Shepherd Center or fill out the community input survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2ZQKBMN (closes Dec 16th).
All community responses will be given the same consideration whether submitted in person or electronically. Questions? Contact Lisa Taylor at [email protected]
