We want to send out a quick thank you to all the folks who have stepped up to sponsor Wallyhood:
- Find A Dog Walker: Despite it’s name, this matchmaking service won’t just help you find someone to keep Fido’s legs stretched and healthy, they also help find pet sitters and the like. It’s a nation-wide service, but founded and run out of our own ‘hood. And if you’re a dogwalker, mention the promo code “Wallyhood” to get a second year free!
- Scarecrow Video: Scarecrow Video is not just one the best independent video stores in Seattle, it’s one of the best in the country. One commenter on our initial post welcoming them aboard called them the “Powell’s Books of Video”. High praise, indeed. And did you know they have 2-for-1 rentals every Wednesday?
- The Folkstore: Whether you’re looking for a sheet music or an instrument to play it on, The Folkstore is the place to go (unless the instrument you seek is a yodeling pickle, in which case, seek elsewhere). Stuart Herrick is a musician and music-lover first, and that’s the kind of guy you want helping you buy your equipment. Stop on in, 5210 Roosevelt Way NE, right down the block from Scarecrow!
- Debris Free Seattle: Local guy, cleaning your gutters, washing your windows, ridding you of moss. Your gutters are dirty. If you get up the ladder, you’re going to hurt your back again. Let him do it.
- Bedrooms and More: Another great example of why it pays to buy local: the people who own and run this store are local folks who want you to have a good night’s sleep and, while they’re at it, want to make the world a better place. Read our welcome message to get the feeling for who they are, then ask yourself: do I deserve a good night’s sleep?
- Cooper Jacobs: Chances are, if you’re reading this, you already live in Wallingford. But maybe you rent and you yearn to own. Maybe you just need a different house. Want to talk to someone who specializes in Wallingford real estate? Find yourself a hidden gem.
- Pangaea Organica: Coffee starts to lose its flavor within 24 hours of roasting, so don’t you want locally roasted coffee? You don’t get any more local than a Wallingford roaster, and that’s what Pangaea is. Best of all, if you live in the ‘hood, they deliver to your door!
Thank you all for helping to keep our little blog going!
My thanks as well to all these great folks keeping Wallyhood alive for us neighborhood readers. You can bet I’ll shop at Wallinghood sponsor businesses every chance I get!
Indeed. I’ve been ordering coffee from Pangaea regularly since I first tried them a while back and it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had. The other day I placed my order in the morning, they roasted that afternoon, and my coffee was waiting outside my door when I got home. Those guys rule!
Yay local biznasty!
