A huge thanks to the many businesses and individuals that have donated to our fundraiser auction to benefit the Wallingford Community Senior Center. As we’ve covered (Senior Center to Close, More Senior Center News, and A Call to Action), the Wallingford Senior Center, serving over 1,500 seniors in our community and beyond, has been forced to close due to lack of funds. They’re trying a variety of avenues to re-open, and we’d like to do our bit by hosting an auction of goods and services from the Wallingford community.
Just in time for your holiday gift shopping, click on a link below to bid on an item. We’re going to run this auction through the Sunday following Thanksgiving, by which time a final go-no go decision for the center is expected. In the event that it is not able to re-open, all proceeds will benefit FamilyWorks.

The Yellow Hat Band is an 8-13 piece community brass band that plays fun, lively, and lovely music from many world traditions. Our repertoire includes music from Columbia to Indonesia, Mexico to Bollywood, original tunes and American favorites.
The Yellow Hat Band eliminates the boundary between audience and performers. Wholly acoustic, we are comfortable playing anywhere – street corners, nightclubs, playgrounds, weddings… We aim to inspire young and old alike to ask questions, kick up their heels, and, hopefully, to pick up an instrument and join a band.
