This past Saturday, we heard there was an “Incident at Verity Credit Union” that led to a police cordon of the area, but we didn’t have any of the details. Casey McNerthney over at the Seattle P-I has more details:
A man who stole about $5,900 from a Wallingford bank Saturday is still on the run, and a police report released Thursday gives more details about the robbery.
The man entered the Verity Credit Union at 4545 Stone Way N. about 10:30 a.m. and told a teller to give him all her money.
“Are you serious?” she replied.
“You have 12 seconds, and I have a weapon,” the man responded.
The teller gave him a drawer with the cash and he left through the south door. The robber was last seen walking northbound on Stone Way North. A weapon was not seen.
Police contained the area, but could not find the man.
The robber is described as a white man, 6-foot-3, with salt and pepper hair. He wore a green plaid shirt and tan pants. His approximate age was not given.
