Any idea what’s up at the Bartell pharmacy? I went in this a.m. to pick up a prescription and everything was fine — they were just busy, so they asked if I could come back in an hour, and they’d call when it was ready. When I didn’t hear back, I called them — and was told there had been an “incident” so they were closed for the rest of the day. They diverted my prescription to the U Village Bartell, and told me they’d mail my insurance card back to me. I asked the guy I spoke with what happened, and he said he couldn’t comment. Thought you guys might know something, or at least know where to look.
Meanwhile, I’m now waiting for the U Village pharm to fill my baby daughter’s antibiotic prescription for her ear infection ….
Anyone know what’s up?
I called around 1pm to schedule a flu shot and were told they had just been robbed.
Ah. That’s what I figured. Thanks Nate.

It was open when I went there around 4.
The police blotter doesn’t say it, but might we assume it was for drugs?
I was there at 11 am and there was nothing going on, maybe it happened right after.

Man robs Wallingford Bartell Drugs
Posted by Jennifer Sullivan
Seattle police are looking for a man who robbed a Bartell Drugs in Wallingford his afternoon.
Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson said the drug store’s pharmacy was robbed at 12:20 p.m. The store, at 1820 N. 45th St., remains closed while robbery detectives investigate. The man did not threaten pharmacy employees with a weapon, police said.
The alleged robber is described as white male, about 6-foot-3. He was wearing a green military-style jacket, dark-colored pants and sunglasses, Jamieson said.
Oops. The SPD blotter had more info. Should have read that before submitting post.
Erica….and other Wallingford neighbors…..would like to bring up something else for you…if there is an issue with the Bartell’s or you are looking to switch to a different pharmacy….you should look at Pharmaca right across the street from Bartell’s. They are fantastic and have that “small town” feel to them. They know your name when you walk in and will always be there to help and answer your questions…..after having some issues with prescriptions and insurance, they went above and beyond what I would have thought any pharmacy would do. So I would suggest that everyone go across the street and give them a shot…..I think you would be very happy with the results.
