Readers may remember that the Shalom House, the Jewish home for the cognitively disabled in Wallingford, closed its doors this past January and the house was put up for sale. Unfortunately, the building had been modified over the years in a somewhat institutional fashion, with odd additions and the upstairs cut up into many tiny rooms, some with linoleum floors.
It didn’t sell.
Instead, it’s become a rental house, and the neighborhood gossip is that the residents are feisty bunch of eight college-age girls. New modifications to the house apparently include the addition of a stripper pole, which has been getting its fair share of activity, to the enthusiasm of guests, audible from other houses.
Welcome to the neighborhood, ladies. One tip to ensure a long, happy sojourn: leave your cell-phone numbers with the neighbors and encourage them to call you if the noise gets too much, and be gracious when they do. You’d rather they call you than 911, trust us.
Also, you may want to avail yourselves of this Wallingford business that Jenny tipped us off to some time ago:
Divine Movement and Pole Dance
(4444 Woodland Park Ave. N.)
At Divine Movement we teach pole dancing holistically. Our pole dancing classes include floor work, dance, pole spins, moves, inverts and transitions. You are not only getting a great workout, but you are learning the graceful, elegant art of dance!
Are you sure this isn’t just Wallyhood’s attempt to gather phone numbers from pole-dancing college girls?
I guess I know what I’m doing tonight… 😀
Welcome to the neighborhood ladies! hahaha…
I couldn’t help but think of this video…
I think if you’re going to publish sexual rumors about a group of young women, it would be courteous not to include the address of their house.
I didn’t see any mention of sex here. Just a pole. Firemen use them too… 😉
@Shoshanna Quite right. Massive bad on my part. The post has been updated.
Thank you! 🙂
