It looks like the space where Apex Cleaners used to be, on Meridian just north of 45th St behind Murphy’s, is getting a face lift. Anyone know if there’s a new tenant lined up?
I heard the same: Jaimeh at Cutz told me they are opening a second salon at the Apex Cleaners location and that this new Cutz will offer other beauty services too, such as massage and skin care.
This is off topic here, but anyone know what the deal is with the townhouse right across 46th from Apex? It’s been for sale for something like 2 years. http://www.redfin.com/WA/Seattle/1922-N-46th-St-98103/home/8190429. Just wondering since they didn’t seem to have any trouble selling the others built next door. I suppose $600k condos aren’t selling like hotcakes these days.
I think you are right, Bill.
With the market dropping, even in Wallingford (who would have thought that a year ago??), folks looking for a townhouse may not want to pay that much. Heck, you can get a nice Wallingford bungalow in the $500’s, and then that gives you are real yard to have your BBQ in..
Hey Jordan, Yes it’s true we’re expanding! I just wanted to start a buzz about it knowing that you always seem to be in the know of what’s up in Wallyhood!
We hope to be opened by the end of August. On Saturdays we will offer valet parking which will be pretty nifty. 🙂 As the co chair of the Wallingford Art Walk I’m proud to say that CUTZ/meridian will continue to feature a monthly Art events all year round. I always loved that space and when it became available at a good price I visualized CUTZ in place of APEX.
If theres one thing I can say after having CUTZ/wallingford for two years is be careful what you ask for it just may come true!
Another related question: Looks like something is opening in the store that housed the Deli Market (i.e., Quickie-Mart) across from 7-11 on North 50th Street.
Well, at least Colleen sort of has the right idea.
Gypsy Cafe seems to be taking the opposite approach and hasn’t been very interested in talking to this particular Wallyhoody. Is it just me, or has anyone else had trouble connecting with the folks over there?
It’s been rumored that the hair salon CUTZ is moving in there. Good news is that I heard they plan on keeping that old rusty sign.

Does anyone konw if the letterpress shop that’s conjoined with Apex is going to stay?
Funny thing is that the reason I posted the question was Colleen from Cutz asked me if I knew what was going on. So…Colleen?
Hmmm. Coincidence? Me thinks not.
