The monthly Wallingford Walk is making way for Solstice this weekend and moving to Sunday, and we’re proud to say that we’ll be a stop on the route. This walk will focus on the farmland among us, taking a tour of three Wallingford homes that house, respectively, chickens, goats and bees.
Wallyhood, of course, is the bees (check out our beekeeping blog, if you’re interested). We’ll be showing off our two backyard hives, even opening one up so you can take a peek inside. We’ve got a couple extra bee suits for those who want to get close, or we’ll just carry over the frames to those waiting at a safer distance so you can see the fresh honey and pollen being stored, the larvae growing and all the wonders that make the apiary what it is. Of course, we’ll have some honey on hand for tasting, as well.
Meet up for the full walk at Tully’s on 45th on Sunday, June 21st at 1 pm. Visit http://greenwallingford.ning.com/group/wallingfordwalks for more info.
