The McDonald School Project (a neighbor-driven project to install new playground equipment at 54th Ave N and Latona) is looking for volunteers this weekend:
Friday (May 29th)
Playground installation will begin on Friday morning between 9 AM and 10 AM. Friday is when the major/large posts for the play structure are installed. A name of the playground installer is Lew. We may need 3 to 4 people to help Lew in the afternoon – please sign-up at Volunteer Spot if you can be available (on-call) Friday afternoon – we will contact you by Thursday if you are actually needed.Saturday (May 30th)
Help. We need to finish installing the play structure, prepare the substrate for new woodchips, and lay new timbers for the border. At this point we don’t have enough people signed up to help with complete the playground installation – can you sign up for one more shifts to compete the installation work on Saturday?
We also need a lot of people for the Spring Clean-up – the more the better! – There’s lots of work to do.Sunday (May 31st)
After the structure is installed, we need a couple people to help rake and grade out the site and place landscape cloth in preparation for the new wood chips.Monday (June 1st)
New wood chips arrive the morning of Monday, June 1st. These wood chips need to be spread under play structure. Activity will probably take a couple of hours to do – can be done anytime.Saturday (June 6th) – Play fields painting day
We need 4 plus people to help repaint the ball courts on the east playfields and paint a new ball court lines on the west playfield.
If you’re interested in volunteering, there’s a linky thing to some sorta Web 2.0 sign-up to volunteer service from their web site.
Thanks Matt & Annie for the tip!
