My family and I walked by this place around noon. We peaked in the window and saw gelato in the display case. The door was unlocked, so my husband peaked in to ask if they were open and the man behind the counter said they would be opening this afternoon. We intended to go back this evening, but never made it. Anyone have a review they would like to share?
Early word from Kara is that it’s good:
A few hrs ago Fainting Goat FINALLY opened up for lots o’ free samples, plus cash sales today. they make their own waffle cones, and have 18 excellent flavors. well, we’ve only tasted half of ’em, but they’re all phenomenal. their chocolate is WAY better than coldstone creamery, which we went to last nite… and this flavor called Bilberry – awesome!
Other reviews?
I was there on Saturday. The folks working there (I’m guessing father-daughter) were very friendly. We sampled all the nut flavors (walnut, hazelnut, and almond) and they were all very good. I was craving pistachio and said so, and they replied that it was on its way, they just couldn’t get all the ingredients to make it at first. The place is a bit barren– they need some tables and artwork in there.
I just had a delicious scoop of almond gelato there. It is indeed barren, but the owner says they have signs and decor on their way. He basically said they weren’t really open yet, but people keep coming in so they keep serving them.
It’s still cash only because they don’t have their computer set up properly yet. He’s hoping to be up-and-running officially this weekend.
Cash only is the ONLY downside. My wife and I shared the cinnamon. Wow. I loved the fact they also had the kids table/crayons/construction paper pad for my son to play with.
A definite awesome addition.
The Tiramisu gelato tasted like Tiramisu. The banana gelato tasted like banana runts candy. The girl behind the counter didn’t come across as friendly. My wife left with an allergic reaction, she has a peanut allergy. Overall I was highly unimpressed.
Well, at least the tiramisu gelato didn’t taste like the girl behind the counter.
