Today (Monday) is the day to show up if you want to get involved in Wallingford’s Earth Day celebration in the QFC lot on Apri 22nd from 3 – 6 pm. Cathy Tuttle of Sustainable Wallingford writes:
Now is when you can volunteer! This Monday, April 6, at 5 p.m., is the most important planning meeting you join for the Earth Day Happening at Mosaic Coffeehouse 4401 2nd Ave NE. Be there or be square!
We definitely don’t want to be square! What all is happening at the Happening?
A No Sale Bake Sale, Hamilton Middle School Band and Choir, Treebeard the Ent, FamilyWorks Food Bank, Growing Food Growing Community tomato plant starts, Lettuce Link and Friends of Fruit Trees, Climate Dialogs, Wallingford Solar, Wallingford Senior Center, Community Preparedness, Cascade Bike Club, Seattle Parks, Seattle Climate Action Network, the Plastic Bag Monsters, Puget Sound Solar, Storytime and Conversation Corners, ArtWorks, Spring Flower Exchange, The Mobile Tire Inflation Station, Wallingford business donations for a free raffle, Community Giving of gently used items small enough to carry such as puzzles, books, shoes, and small hand tools, and many, many more places for you to freely give and receive.
If you’re looking for a reason to get involved, she let us know that on the 22nd, “A Love-In follows the Happening at 7 for Happening volunteers” . Come, when was the last time you went to a Love In?
Want to get involved but can’t make the meeting? Contact Cathy at [email protected], Jessica ([email protected]), Event Coordinator, or Will ([email protected]), volunteer coordinator.
I thought the meeting was consistently on at 4pm Mondays? As set in Wallyhoods calendar? I’ll pop along at 4pm regardless and grab some yummy coffee & cake… and chill… c u all there!
I’m going off of Cathy’s mail sent on April 4th. Could be a typo, I guess?
Nope not a typo….the meetings are now set for 5pm. Volunteers needed for Earth Day event so check out http://greenwallingford.ning.com/ for details
