You think Friday’s going to be good? How about Sunday? It’s Easter! So what all’s going on around the ‘hood?
- Get your brunch on at Joule. Peep Foo Young, yo! Read all about it!
- Honk Fest picnic at Gas Works: Starting around noon (or whenever hungover musicians get up), the various street bands from around the country that have come to Seattle for Honk Fest will be stumbling down to Gas Works for a picnic. Bring some food to share, expect some music.
- Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt: We passed the sign to your right on the corner of 43rd and Burke. It reads “Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt, Sunday April 12th, 3:00 pm”. Now you know what we know.
Now, let us be clear: the events just listed are happening on Easter Sunday. The following events, however, are Saturday, not Sunday. We know, we know, Sunday is Easter, so why would these clearly Easter-themed events happen on Saturday? Maybe they didn’t want to keep you away from church. Or paganism at Gasworks. Hey, we’re Jewish, why are you asking us?
- The Woodland Park Zoo is hosting their annual Bunny Bounce: “Hop, skip and jump to Woodland Park Zoo for the eighth annual Bunny Bounce, featuring amazing egg hunts for children ages 1–8, crafts, bunny encounters, and eggs-citing zoo programs throughout the day. Space may be limited. Each egg hunt is open on a first-come, first-served basis. Activities are free with zoo admission. Zoo members receive free zoo admission year-round.”
- Wallingford Center Annual Easter Celebration: 9 am – 2 pm, including an Easter egg hunt, The Bubble Man, Face Painting, Crafts, and a Food Drive. See their web site for exactly the same information you just read here and no more.
Wallingford Center itself will be closed Easter Sunday. No cupcake for you!
Having just distributed little easter treats (including little amputee-looking purple-chick-peeps from a box that had been sitting around for a couple weeks) to my secular co-workers, I find the idea of peep foo young disturbing!
