We’re stuck. Back in January we announced a Wallingford Photo Contest. The rules were simple: photo to be taken in Wallingford of something in Wallingford during the time period the contest was open.
What isn’t simple is picking the winner. There were so many stunning photos submitted we’re stumped. We’ve managed to narrow it down to two photos, but now, dear readers, we turn to you. Here are the finalists. Please use the comments section to help us decide.
The Wallingford Photo Center has donated a free print and Frame Central a $100 gift certificate to the winner. We will add to the trove a jar of our own Wallingford Hive Mind Honey to the runner-up.
One judge, Heidi, commented that Gasworks Silhouette “is an emotional photograph with lots of interesting aspects and so many different contrasts: light and dark, hard and soft, nature and man-made. A very appealing shot.” On the other hand, of Watching over Meridian Park, she notes that it “seems to tells us a little story about the neighborhood. It is a clean, emotional and unexpected shot. I love the contrast of textures in this image!”
What do you think?
My vote is for Gasworks Silhouette.

I already voted via twitter but I’ll throw my vote in here again for Gasworks Silhouette.
I vote for Gasworks Silhouette. Great photos all!
I’d like to vote for Meridian Park. It has a wonderful hushed feeling to it that reminds me of early weekend mornings in Wallingford.
Tough choice but I’d go for Gasworks Silhouette.
Can I vote if I don’t live in the neighborhood? If so, Gasworks Silhouette is my favorite.

Meridian Park
Gasworks silhouette – amazing shot. Love the Carl the Good Dog, too, but the lighting in the Gasworks image just speaks to me more.
