Don’t you hate those people who take some amazing vacation and then manage to work a mention of it into every conversation? “You’d like me to pass the butter? Oh, that reminds me of this amaaazing butter we had in Italy…”
Anyway, we’re totally those people ever since we took this amaaaazing three month trip to Europe a year ago last Fall. We first mentioned it a few weeks ago in our City Cellars Wine Tasting post, when we used the fact that City Cellars was having an Italian wine tasting, and we had been in Italy, as the weak pretense with which to introduce the topic. We even tried to get you to go read our travel blog, if you go believe the narcissism.
Well, today we’re shoehorning it into conversation yet again. Our excuse this time: tomorrow, Wide World Books and Maps is hosting John and Candace, who will talk about their year long vacation in Umbria (where we spent a month):
John and Candace Sheehan recently fulfilled a long-held dream and lived for a year in the countryside in Umbria Italy. Beginning with the practical – why and how they did this – they will move on to the more exciting aspects of living in a country filled with art and known for its incredible food and wine, while delving into Italy’s culture and people. Learn about their day-to-day lives and also their travels in a country that is consistently a best-seller location at Wide World. John, a passionate photographer, will visually take us to this magical land and everyone will leave saying Mille Grazie!
If you’re planning a trip that way, we recommend you join us. We’ll be the ones in the back constantly interrupting, “oh, well when WE were there…”
Wide World Books and Maps, 4411 Wallingford Ave, Tuesday, Feb 24th at 7 pm.
